Day 32

Days 30 and 31
Woohoo! I'm at Cape Hatteras... gorgeosity and yum yum yum. I got a chance to steal my dad's Canon Rebel XSi and it's sooo much fun. Makes my point and shoot look like crap. Butttt yeah, Maddie wanted me to update this, and I guess it's time I did. Here's a couple photos from the last few days.
Day 30- August 25
We packed up and started down to Hatteras around 11:30, and I would've been excited except my back was KILLING me. Ugh. So it was a pretty unpleasant ride... but I got happy again once we got to the house, because it's awesome and enormous and probably the best house we've vacationed in so far. Ummm wow, I just realized I'm writing about the wrong day... ok. Well on the actual day, we went grocery shopping and went to the beach, where I turned into a lobster on my front side. That's about it? Oh yeah, I now worship the healing powers of Excedrin Back and Body. And I hate Don Delillo... doing my English summer assignment for White Noise is painful. C'est tout.
Oh yeah, hahaha, this is a picture of birds.
Day 31- August 26
Yeah, today we just hung out at the beach... I'm a lobster on my back now, as well. So I'm sunburnt all over. Meaning soon I'll be tan all over. And then peeling all over. And then something close to a tan but people will still call me disgustingly pale all over. SO much fun. I've had way too much Dr. Perky today... but since the Summer of the Eternal Double Date, I've become a Dr. Perky addict.
So yeah, beachness... this is a picture of my brother getting his boogie board. He's a skinny one. I think that's about all I have to say... the beach isn't very exciting, it's just relaxing. But Maddie and Christine are coming tomorrow, so it should be funnnn. Oh yeah! I finished A Clockwork Orange today. Twas good. It was cheap of Stanley Kubrick not to include the last chapter in the movie... it was a very good ending.
I miss Aaron.
That's all.

Day 29
Look at that, I'm almost up to a full month.

I have a reason for not posting in a few days this time! I was away from internet for 3 or 4 days. Makes me completely nervous that I'm missing something big, but most of the time it's pretty worth it. My family and I went to Massanutten, and that was kinda lame. We normally get a condo there, which is basically 3 different kinds of hotel rooms put together to make a kitchen/living space and 2 bedrooms. But this time, since it was a short trip, we only got one bedroom... bad idea. Good thing my dad wasn't with us... that would have made it miserable. He snores. So loud. But we had a king-sized bed and a pull-out couch, so even though my back is killing me the sleeping arrangements could have been worse. We mostly just hung out or drove around places... went to the pool a few times. Rode the ski-lift to the top of the mountain and had a picnic. Were attacked by ants. Basic procedure. My sister, mom and I tried to convince my younger 2 siblings that Massanutten was in Wisconsin. They didn't buy it, but I thought they might have once we parked next to a car with a Wisconsin license plate, which was pretty hilarious timing.
Basically, it was pretty boring and I'm glad to be home (and glad other people are home to be with!). Except now I have to clean my room tomorrow. Ick.
Oh yeah! The picture is of this cool barn we passed on one of the side roads... it had huge paintings of the Mona Lisa, American Gothic, and the David. Pretty sweet. Rural roads have the strangest houses sometimes...

Day 28
Today's picture is stupid. But you know what? Today was stupid. Blahhh on today. Today (okay, I guess now officially yesterday) failed me. I feel like I've been in isolation since Saturday... ultimate suckage. I need my people. Mais c'est la vie, I've been making the most of my alone time by doing work. A LOT of work. Starting/finishing a lot of my summer assignments and doing laundry... which is what the picture is of. That sweatshirt had been in my dirty clothes pile for God knows how long; I hadn't needed to wash it because it's hot, so I didn't bother. But I figured today was as good a day as any to wash it and a lot of my other cold-weather clothes, and as soon as I got that hoodie out of the wash I had to put it on... it's like an old friend. I love it. (Plus it smelled really good!) I love summer, and I hate cold weather, but I love fall and winter clothes... I love scarves and sweaters and boots and jeans and cords and tights... they're my favorite. And that sweatshirt's been through a lot with me. It met Regina Spektor, it's gone on a bunch of trips, and... I don't know what else.
Whoops. I can talk a LOT about clothes. Sorry. And okay, I lied. Today wasn't a complete failure. I'm 100% DONE with my AP Euro summer assignment, am done with AP Gov until the national conventions at the end of August, and I only have to research some portfolios and take one more roll of film for Photo. This afternoon I went to Richmond with my mom to finish the first part of my photo summer assignment... which didn't go so well, I got a photo block or something... I don't know. But that could have gone better. However, after I got home and ate dinner, I FINALLY got a chance to see the second episode of Project Runway season 5. You have no idea how much wasted effort I've put in to seeing this episode. Every time it came on at a reasonable hour I missed it for one reason or another, so I'd look at Bravo's website to see when it would come on next, and normally it would say 1 or 2 in the morning. So I'd just mess around for a while waiting for it to come on and then sneak downstairs to watch it... only to find that Bravo had LIED to me and it was actually Kathy Griffin or some crap like that. It was upsetting. But I got to see it at last tonight... so that was cool? I dunno. Sad when that's the highlight of you day.
Wow, I think this post is going to be really long. But ummm if you're reading this I probably miss you and want to see you, and I hope your day is going wonderfully. Bye.

click click click
ive been lusting after toy cameras for the past
hour... lomo, holga, diana... i want one. they seem really good for experimentation n fun n stuff. but theyre for 120 format film, meaning id have to FIND 120 format film, then id have to find someone who processes 120 format film... or i have to find a kit that works to adapt it to 135 film (doesnt seem likely from what ive seen online so far) and use a lot of black electrical tape or something. ehhh, im not so good with instructions or working with tape... but just look at the kinds of images you can get:

it's so flawed, its wonderful. random light leaks and double exposures... i want to be able to do that! okay. maybe next time i have money... whenever that will be.
i keep thinking AIM is flashing orange at the bottom of the screen... never is. why would it? its 2:30! im going to bed.

Epic Fail.
Holy Christ. I'm so bad at updating this blog... I'm so sorry. I've gotten lazy with taking pictures, and honestly, if I took pictures they would pretty much all be pictures of people's beds. Most of my summer has been spent sitting on people's beds (Maddie's, Aaron's, mine...) talking about stuff. Although last week was exciting, I'll post a picture and call it... day 26. :)
Yeah... we filled Aaron's room with balloons. It was a LOT of balloons. 9 packs of 72 balloons. Sitting in there trying to talk was virtually impossible... every word in my head got turned into "balloon" by the time it left my mouth. It was insane just trying to sit there and see Sam, Maddie, Aaron, and Katie... and to try to navigate the room. But it was lots of fun. I want to do it again. :)
I'm enjoying today. I woke up and decided immediately that I was going to go on a hunt for Wild Sweet Orange's new CD, "We Have Cause to Be Uneasy." So I went to Barnes and Noble, the first place I always go, even though it's probably more expensive than anywhere else I could possibly go... why? Because I love the old dudes in the music section. Last time I bought a CD there it was Tilly and the Wall's latest, and the guy was like, "Hmm, I've never heard of them. Are they any good?" So I told him how they're sweet and have a tap dancer in lieu of a percussionist, and he immediately hopped on the Tilly Train and told me he'd definitely check them out. Today when I went to look for We Have Cause, they actually had it and I didn't have to order it... a happy rare occurrence. And the guy was just so nice. I don't even know. Old guys make me happy... in a totally non-sexual way. I know what you're thinking, Aaron.
After I bought the CD (AMAZING, by the way...I love WSO), I bought a frappuccino and the baristas were surprisingly pleasant today. Normally they're kinda bitchy. But that put me in more of a good mood. And that's what the picture's of, condensation from my frappuccino that just happened to be in the shape of a smiley face. :)
I hung out at Christine's house for a little while after that and heard her and her family play some music... they're so amazing. I love listening to them... it's just sweet. I wish I was that awesome at music. I can't wait until they need a photographer. :)
Wow, sorry for the excess of smileys. It's been a good day, even though nothing huge has happened. I always love that. Hmm, my arm is spazzing out. Might be because of all the sugar and caffeine I had earlier. Haha later.

Day... Hmm. What day is it again?
I'm going to cheat a tiny bit. Because I took some pictures on my hiatus that I don't want to go to waste... so I'm just going to skip around a little. And since it's my blog, I can do whatever I want. Ha.
So Day 21!
This was Mother's Day, May 11. I took this at Agecroft Hall, which is this big house built in the 15th century that came from England... rebuilt in Richmond in the 20th. It started raining when we went to check out the gardens. I think that was the day my family went for fondue? And that was delicious, of course. I'm glad I was awake for this Mother's Day, last year I slept until like 6. Prom being the day before really isn't a good idea.
Day 22- May 15
They're going to kill me for this... actually, they probably won't ever read this. But if so, hey, don't kill me. I put up the most flattering picture I could find. :)
Anyway, I slept over at Katie's because it was her birthday... and I think this is a picture of her, Leah, and Alex performing "Supergeek"? They don't look very geeky. I love showchoir girls, haha. So yeah, they danced and then we did the Cupid Shuffle? And then they did this odd tribal dance that wasn't actually a tribal dance and I took a bunch of pictures but I'm not allowed to put any of them on the internet, lol. Sorry, this one's kind of just a bunch of inside jokes. Buttt yeah, fun night.
Day 23- May 16
Christine played at Jammin on the- oh, wait. I mean, Rockin Fur a Cause (=P) anddd was pretty awesome. No surprise there. Alec is pretty much a drum god now that some kid called him "BRUTAL!" What a cutie cool kid.
After that, I definitely did something but I can't remember what. I think I went to sam's house... oh yeah. And hung out with some people there. And felt like a little kid for not drinking, haha. Whatever, it was pretty fun.
Day 24- May 26
Ok, I'm starting for real. Right now. Tomorrow there's going to be a post, too. It's going to be awesome.
So apart from the show on Sunday and hanging out with sam and Maddie on Friday, this weekend has been super duper boring. Aaron wasn't here so I didn't have anyone to talk to because I don't talk to anyone, lmao. I was bored enough to re-start this thing. Whatever. This is the view outside my window if you look down. My room's been pretty much the only thing I've seen this weekend. It's been crazy awesome... not.
But hey. It's almost summer. I don't even care. Summer's going to be amazinggg. Can't wait.
So, ok. This was a pretty bad post, but whatever. Hey, I'll have some photo class pictures tomorrow, hopefully. First shooting assignment we've had in a while... making prints tomorrow, I'm hoping I got some good shots. Infrared kinda blows, my film came out way too light. We'll just have to see.
Ok, on second glance I decided that even though I don't have a picture, I'm going to talk about last night because it was pretty good and because I do what I want. I actually have no idea where that phrase is from... someone educate me? Aaron, Sam, sam, Maddie, and I went to The National to see Wild Sweet Orange even though they were just openers... they were pretty good. I got a shirt. I sang along.
And then we left before the headline act (haha for free tickets and leaving whenever) to get lost around Richmond some, and ended up at Buffalo Wild Wings. Our waitress was dumb. We got 50 boneless wings. They were good. Why am I writing like a kindergartener. Ummm after that Aaron actually managed to get us out of Richmond, yaaay Aaron. That was pretty much it. I actually got home really early. Ok, done.

It's been a while.
I figured I should start doing this again because I miss taking pictures. And because life is really good right now and I want to look back on this and be able to remind myself of how happy things were. I actually don't really have any recent pictures, other than this picture I took of myself on my mom's new camera. I'll probably start again tomorrow, because Aaron, sam, Maddie, (maybe Sam) and I are going to see Wild Sweet Orange at the National.
This weekend's been completely uneventful so far, but I actually worked tonight for the first time innnn I think 5 weeks. That's been annoying. My arms hurt but in a good way. :)
So basically this was just to let everyone know that I'm coming back. Because people actually used to read this. And it made me feel special. :)
Later, kidsssss.

Okay...
I think I may need to take a break from this for a while. In all honestly, I haven't taken a picture in 3 days. There are some people in my life whose relationships I need to focus on, and there's a certain person in my life who is draining all of my energy right now. It's unfortunate, but hopefully he'll soon come to his senses and realize he's just being immature and acting off of completely irrational feelings... I'm not holding my breath, but I can keep a little bit of faith that he's not the idiot who has taken over his body right now. We'll just see. Sorry.

Day 19 and 20
Uhhhh Sundays are always mind-numblingly boring, and I worked from 5 to 9. Erik, Aaron, and Rachel came to visit, but it was at a really bad time and I didn't get to talk to them :(. I hate consolidating.
Sunday, April 6, 2008
...I hate blogs.
Haha I guess I don't actually hate them. I just hate having to be tied to things. Structure is good, but always having to do something in a certain way at a certain time drives me craaazy.
Day 14, April 1
Yeah, I didn't take the second picture... thank you, Erik!!!! I took the first one though, and even though it's not of Kimya Dawson (who I was the most excited to see, haha), it's one of my better pictures from the show. My camera isn't the best for dark places. Anyway, it was super fun and Kimya talked to Aaron a lot because he was insane and there weren't too many people there, so it had a nice feel to it. A little bit political, but I mean I guess it's ok to spread your opinions on anarchy to the people you're playing for, Spoonboy...? Oh yeah, Erik sucks at finding parking garages, Wendy's fries plus frosties are delicious, and getting lost (when you actually want to get lost) is probably one of my favorite activities, creepy roads or not.
Day 15, April 2
I went with my family to Friendly's... ick. I'm not a fan of Friendly's. Sure, they have ice cream, and that's always good. But I can't say the same about the real food or the service. But whatever, yay food. My sister got chocolate all over her face and wouldn't let me take a picture of her mouth, so you'll just have to pretend. I'm sure that Wednesday (?) was a terribly uneventful day.
Day 16, April 3
Haha, this picture has absolutely nothing with that day at all. I just liked it... I like shooting in macro. It makes everything small seem significant, and everything big just a blur. So I went to school and worked, but that day was good because I think finally mostly everyone knows I at least work there, if not my name yet. Yeah, that's kind of depressing... but it's what happens when you're quiet. The people I work with on Thursdays are awesome at finishing early, too. :)
Day 17, April 4
More macro... I've eaten almost an entire bag of peanut M&Ms since Thursday. Yum.
Friday I slept over at Erik and Christine's, like I've done almost every weekend since like
January. And we always somehow manage to make hours fly past without actually doing anything. What did we do Friday, we went to get food and suddenly it was midnight or something, and Molly and Laura came and we watched O Brother Where Art Thou, but I fell asleep. That's pretty much all we did, haha. Strange. Always fun, though.
Day 18, April 5
Yesterday was fun-filled... woke up, took a shower at my house, then went to Panera for lunch with a bunch of people. And we managed to talk for over 2 and a half hours straight. Haha it never ceases to amaze me how much girls can talk. Insaaane. Then I drove Maddie home and returned CDs to the library (I had around 10 or 15... I'm bad at returning things.), went home and burnt my finger in my toaster oven (the metal really didn't seem that hot), then went to see You Can't Take it With You! And that was hilarious. Christine was really funny, even though she didn't have to try too hard at her character... she's already a crazy old lady. The set was really cool, and I liked how the red-white-black theme got to all of the characters, though I think it would have been perfect if Morgan's character was wearing red, white, and black when she took off her pink jacket once she finally accepts her family the way it is... but that's okay.
So after that I went home and my dad said he has disposable cameras that have rolls that need to be finished, so I guess I'll be playing around with those a little. Though they're not nearly as much fun as SLR's...
I'm happy to know that there are some fools who actually read this! I hadn't realized I hadn't enabled it so everyone could comment, but now I'm pretty sure you don't need an account to comment my blog. So comment it! I'd like all of your feedback. :) I'll get a picture of today up hopefully tonight; I haven't seen anything of interest yet.

Days 10-13
Day 10, March 28
Alright, I can't remember what I did that day because I'm tired from work and I'm somewhat of an idiot. I slept over at Christine's and we went to the lake to see the sunset and then a cop came and asked us if we lived in Brandermill, which was stupid. Even though I live in Brandermill. But I found out that Christine is the worst person to take portraits of. Not because of looks, because she's beautiful. But because she squirms like a two year old, hahaha. Anyway, we went back to her house and managed to make time go by at lightning speed because suddenly it was 3 AM and time to go to sleep. But then I woke up and it was my birthday!
Day 11, March 29
Haha Christine made me muffins. And one giganto monster muffin that could have eaten me. And Erik and Maddie made me an awesome cake covered in M&Ms, but then I had to go home and I kinda sat at home for a while and that was depressing. Then I went to the French Film Festival in Richmond and that was interesting. Basically, it reminded me that I've been taking French for, what? 5 and a half years? And still don't know anything. But oh well. Then I did birthday stuff with my family and then went to Sam's and then slept over with everyone at Erik's and got no sleep, but it was funnnn.
Day 12, March 30
So I got some cool stuff for my birthday, like laptop speakers and a photo enlarger, but I still have SO MUCH STUFF to buy before I can make my bathroom a darkroom. Yeah, Sunday was boring. All I did was homework. And I couldn't concentrate on anything so I ended up going to Panera to do most of it, so at least I got a good meal out of it.
Day 13, March 31
Man, this picture and the one before that suck. I haven't done anything exciting and the weather's been so bad, so I apologize.
This picture's been on my whiteboard for like a year. Haha it's from when my sister was just learning how to read and write, and it's so cute I can't erase it.
Blahhhh, back to school. I'm so freaking tired... and then I had work, but that was actually cool. So yeah.
I'm terrible at serious conversations. I've been having a lot lately and I can't do them. I can't keep my thoughts straight and end up sounding like an idiot and even semi-serious conversations with Maddie and Christine in Research Tech freak me the hell out. Blahhh.
I have way too much homework to do to be spending too much time on making this pretty. So yeah, later.

Project 365: Day 9
Look! I'm keeping up! Haha I'm proud of myself.
Anyway, this is Humbert Humbert. Like the creepy man in Lolita. Because, well, he's creepy. This freaking insect I found flying around noisily in my room YESTERDAY. And I mean noisily. I locked him in my bathroom last night and he managed to get out and WAKE ME UP. And he's still hanging around, stalking me. So I figured I'd adopt him as my pet and name him. What a freak. Although I'm home from work now and I'm not sure where he is... Seriously though, he's gigantic and scary and smart enough to crawl underneath a door or whatever he did to come back in my room.
So today was pretty uneventful, I bought Vampire Weekend and have totally been jamming to that everywhere (I only had it on my computer and dead Zune before). Everywhere except work! I was doing dishes and actually not dreading it too terribly because I knew I actually had CDs in my car, but the CD player doesn't play CDs. It was sad. But (excitement) my paycheck was over $100 today. Yaaaay! Time to... not spend any of it. I'd like to have over $100 in my bank account at all times, and it hasn't even been close to that lately.
Yeah, today was boring. Later.
Oh yeah! My birthday is in 2 days. Yaaaay R-rated movies. :)

Day I'm a Failure- 2 through 7?
Blah blah blah, so I suck at blogging. Haha deal with it.
Day 2, March 20
Anyway, YAY she's 17! We're getting old, goodness gracious. I love Christine lots and lots and lots and I hope she knows that even though I don't know how to tell or show her most of the time. She's a great friend and an awesome person, and I'm pretty honored to say I know her.
For a while I couldn't remember what the hell happened today, but then it all came back to me. Aaron and I went over to Sam's house for a while and then managed to waste the 2 hours between then and meeting Erik and Sam at Panera. We tested out Erik's new convertible! And we watched Across the Universe at Erik's, then I went home and stayed up till 4 AM (that's what this is a picture of, haha) for no reason. Hmm, may have been the Dunkin Donuts cinnamon iced coffee.
Day 4, March 22
Day 5, March 23
Yeah, this was Easter. And Day 1 of my Virginia College Tour of Doom. We found this random restaurant in... Roanoke? Called The Fried Pickle and it was really cool, it was like a 50's diner and it had chalkboard ceiling tiles with weird phrases written on them, like "If they arrest the Energizer Bunny, do they charge him with battery?" I wish I could post more pictures, but it's one a day. But yeah, I went a little camera crazy there. Oh yeah, and I got a Hula Burger. Hamburger with barbecue sauce, provolone, and PINEAPPLE. Crazy. Delicious. Emphasis on the crazy, I guess. No, emphasis on delicious. So good.
Day 6, March 24
I can seriously not wait for college. New people, new experiences, freedom, screwing up. I'm excited. I'm just not excited about having to make these new friends, because I'm horrible at that. But I'm just ready to get out of everything that's been familiar to me for the past 10 or so years and make some new familiarities. I mean, I'd totally consider going to VCU if it wasn't so close to home. I'm terrified of becoming like so many other Midlothian soccer moms and living in the same suburb for the rest of my life. I'm ready to start something new. Yeah, so it's over a year away... it's about time I start thinking about it, though.
Day 7- March 25
Day 8- March 27
Today I went to Busch Gardens with Maddie, Erik, Rachel, and Leslie. I think I'll just let my Myspace bulletin speak for itself:
today i got hot and sunburnt for the first time this year (yesss!!), had my hair french-braided, borrowed some of maddies books, rode in a convertible with the top down, made lots of plans, saw horton hears a who, and laughed at the stupid puffball creature for wayyy longer than i should have.
So yesss, lots of fun. Erik looks pretty, well, Erik. :) <3>

Project 365: Day 1
Well, I'm completely horrible at keeping blogs up. I start them, write a couple entries, and then completely forget about them. I've been getting a whole lot better than since I was... oh, twelve, but even so, lately I've been neglecting the journal I've been keeping up for over a year.
But I was looking at my friend Katrina's Myspace and noticed on her profile it said she was participating in Project 366. I of course was bored and curious, so I clicked on the link, and lo and behold, I was suddenly at the website that I feel was created for me (haha and why wouldn't it be?) so I could A. have an excuse to take pictures all the time, B. keep up with a blog, and C. show off my photographic prowess without looking like a total narcissist, ala Myspace.
So! Triumphant music. I took my first picture today. It's not a good one, because it was extremely rushed, but oh well. It's a picture of the party section of Target! Because I bought Christine birthday stuff today! And it was fun except for the fact that I didn't have time to do much of anything. But oh well, it's life. Christine's birthday marks the commencement of basically Birthday Week, with Christine's on the 20th, Trish's on the 21st, Aaron's on the 23rd, and Sam's and my birthday is on the 29th. So yeah, lots of fun and lots of cake.
I don't really have much else to say, except I love warm days and I make kick-ass mix CDs.
